100th anniversary of professors Viktor Radovich and Mariam Azizbekova

"In the Traces of Lithuanian Music History" - a concert where we will remember our outstanding artists and educators - prof. Mariam Azizbekov and prof. Viktor Radovich.

Both professors are prominent representatives of the modern Lithuanian professional piano and violin school, who have raised several generations of our piano and violin concert performers and educators. Today, we see their students performing on the world stage, including renowned artistes, art school and university lecturers, and professors who creatively interpret and communicate today's experiences to their students.

Contemporary Lithuanian composers have dedicated their works to the concert duo of M. Azizbekova and V. Radovich and performed the premiers of original chamber works.

Prof. Mariam Azizbekova was born in Rostov-on-Don (Russia). 1946 Graduated from Moscow State Piotr Tchaikovsky Conservatory and postgraduate studies with the legendary pianist Samuel Feinberg. 1950 moved to Vilnius with her violinist Viktor Radovich. 1950-1954. In the present Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater he worked as an assistant professor, 1950-1975. Lecturer at MK Čiurlionis School of Arts, 1976. became a professor at LMTA. I was a well-deserved artist.

The pianist has performed solo, with the orchestra, in piano duets and chamber ensembles. Her repertoire was characterized by diversity and modernity. At that time, Azizbekova prepared both little known and new vocal pieces - he introduced the works of Domenico Scarlatti, Olivier Messiaen, John Cage, Gyorgy Ligeti, Samuil Feiberg, Igor Stravinsky to the Lithuanian audience. The Lithuanian Radio and Television Music Archive holds records of interpretations of her piano and chamber music.

The professed theater was attracted by the professor's very special former themed evening concerts in Lithuania - O. Messiaen "Twenty Glances at the Baby Jesus" (French Vingt Regards sur Enfant-Jésus), "Flowers and Bells for Piano", "Spanish Pictures in Music", "Landscapes-mood in music" and so on. Among her students are laureates of various competitions, prominent top performers and educators, cultural figures - Aldona Dvarionaitė, Birutė Vainiūnaitė, Birutė Kiverytė-Karosienė, Zecharia Plavin, Sergej Okruško and others.

Prof. Viktor Radovich was born in Abkhazia in 1948. Graduated from Moscow Conservatoire, prof. David Oistrach’s Violin Class. After coming to Lithuania, he worked for several years as an artist of the Radio Symphony Orchestra and as a teacher at the Vilnius Ten-Year School. and lecturer at the Lithuanian Conservatoire. 1966 V. Radovicius became an assistant professor. - Professor. Was a well-deserved artist.

The violinist has performed in chamber ensembles with Mariam Azizbekova, violinist George Fledinsky, cellist Mikhail Shenderov, clarinetist Algirdas Budri and others. 1960 He was a longtime concertmaster and soloist of Saulius Sondeckis, who participated in all concerts of that time in Lithuania and abroad.

The professor vaccinated the students with the aspirations of high professionalism, and was characterized by meticulous and demanding intonation, cutting technique and form of work. He focused on counting hours, developing students' musical tastes, listening to them, and analyzing audio recordings of world-famous violinists. Audronė Vainiūnaitė, Petras Kunca, Jurgis Dvarionas, Undinė Jagėlaitė and others continued their creative work in the class of V. Radovičius. For many years the violin group of the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra consisted of his students, they are members of Vilnius Quartet, Čiurlionis Quartet and other chamber ensembles. We see many of his students on the world concert scene: Israel, Canada, France and elsewhere.

V. Radovičius often read scientific reports and consulted on violin teaching methodology and was invited to the various examination and competition juries both in Lithuania and abroad.

This concert will feature violin and piano music performed by professor students.

With his warm memories and stories of love for music and acquaintance with prof. M. Azizbekova and prof. Prof. prof. dr. Jurgis Dvarionas, prof. dr. Zecharia Plavin (Israel) and other artists.
