To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of prominent Polish composer Mieczyslaw Weinberg, violin virtuoso Gidon Kremer has prepared a special concert program to reveal his impressive and multi-faceted work. December 15th The maestro will perform this program with the violinist Madara Peterson at the Palaisius Manor.

Thirsty for talent from a young age, Gidon Kremer reached the heights of the music world early on. Today, the maestro is beloved by critics and audiences alike and is always welcome on the world stage.

The repertoire of G. Kremer is unusually extensive and diverse - covering classical and romantic periods. The artist is also well versed in the twentieth century. and 21st century. In addition, he is interested in works by Russian and Eastern European composers and contemporary music. The musician constantly collaborates with such world-famous composers as Alfred Schnittke, Arvo Pärt, Giya Kanchel, Sofia Gubaidulina, Valentin Silvestrov, Luigi Nonu, Edison Denisov, Aribert Reimann, Peter Vasks, John Adams, Viktor Kissin, Michael Nyman, Philip Glass, Leonid Desyatnik. and Astor Piazzolla.

While performing contemporary works, Kremer respects musical traditions and roots, but also masterfully emphasizes their freshness and modernity. It is safe to say that today there is no other soloist of such high standard who is so renowned for his violin works by modern and contemporary composers.
Mr Kremer has been awarded the Grand prix du Disque, Deutscher Schallplattenpreis, Ernst von Siemens Musikpreis, Bundesverdienstkreuz, Premio dell 'Accademia Musicale Chigiana, Triumph Prize 2000. (Moscow), Unesco Prize 2001, Saeculum Glashütte Original MusikFestspielPreis 2007 (Dresden), Rolf Schock Prize 2008 (Stockholm), Lifetime Achievement Award, Istanbul Music Festival 2010 and the Una Vita Nella Musica - Artur Rubinstein Prize 2011 (Venice). 2016 Gidon Kremer was awarded the Praemium Imperiale Prize, considered the equivalent of the Nobel Prize in the music world.

1997 maestro Gidon Kremer founded the Kremerata Baltica Chamber Orchestra to encourage young, talented musicians from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia to join together. The ensemble and its founder have been performing intensively for the past two decades, appearing at the world's most famous festivals and prestigious concert halls. Has recorded albums at audio studios such as Teldec, Nonesuch, Burleske, Deutsche Grammophon and ECM. 2002 Gidon Kremer and Kremerata Baltica received Grammy awards for their album After Mozart. This album was later awarded the ECHO Klassik Prize.

Madara Peterson was born in Latvia. 2013 graduated from the Latvian Academy of Music with honors; earned a master’s degree, and in 2019. graduated from Serguei Azizian solo class at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. Since 2011 He is a member of the Kremerata Baltica Chamber Orchestra, conducted by violinist Gidon Kremer. With Kremerata Baltica, she has performed in some of the most famous concert halls in Europe, Asia and North America.

While living in Copenhagen, Mr Peterson joined Danmarks Underholdnings and performed and recorded all Beethoven symphonies with conductor Adom Fischer. The secrets of performance excellence were learned from violinists Gidon Kremer, Rainer Schmidt, Gerhard Schulz, Gunar Larsen, Ernst Kovacic, Romu Nodeli, Tim Frederiksen and clarinetist Mate Bekavac.
At the heart of it is chamber music - the artist is constantly looking for dialogue.

Mr Peterson currently plays the Nicolas Lupot violin, made in 1810. Paris and owned by Gidon Kremer.
