Implemented project "Sounding Legends of Ignalina"

The lake and the legendary Ignalina region have long attracted travelers and nature tourism enthusiasts. The series of events aimed at this project aimed to preserve and popularize the intangible cultural heritage of Ignalina region, manifested in oral creative traditions - legends, tales, stories - and at the same time activate, promote cultural tourism and offer quality, high artistic cultural services not only to our region. but also for tourists from Lithuania and abroad who visit here a lot.

During the project, in September 2020, four events took place in the most beautiful and visited areas of the Ignalina region - on the legendary Ladakalnis, near the historic Palūšė church, next to the Mažuloniai mound and Ignalina legend sculpture in the center of Ignalina. At the end of the events, the production and dissemination of audio recordings of legends, stories and tales began.

During the four events:

  • the author's concert program of famous Lithuanian bards - soloists and duets, folk songs performed by the Ignalina region folklore ensemble "Čiulbutė",
  • legends, tales and stories related to the surroundings of the event, which were read during the events by professional actors - Birutė Mar, Giedrius Arbačiauskas - and fairy tales speaking in the dialect of Ignalina region,
  • the poetry of Lithuanian authors read by the actors, the theatrical inserts and mergers of the Ignalina Theater community of friends.
