The only lake within a lake in Lithuania can be found on the long island of Lake Baluošas.
An island located in Lake Baluošas, in the Ignalina district, Linkmenys eldership. It is a state-protected hydrographic natural heritage site in the territory of the Aukštaitija National Park. There is a 7.7 m deep lake in Ilgasalė, which is connected to Baluoš by a strait. The island is separated from the coast to the west by a 150 m stretch of water.
