Guntauninkai is a village in Ignalina district, 4 km northeast of Gilūtai, on the Svyla River and its tributary Audenėlė. Further east, the Adutiškis forests stretch. The road 4402 Adutiškis–Jakeliai–Tverečius–Vidžiai passes through the village. The village has preserved the traditional eastern Aukštaitija building and architecture. There is a cemetery and a water metering station.

In 1914, a branch of the „Rytas“ society operated in this village, as well as a secret Lithuanian school. In 1915, the front line passed through the village's surroundings. Defensive fortifications from the First World War have survived.
