Ignalina Burial Mound

The burial mound is a cultural monument and a state–protected object. It is located in the north–eastern part of Ignalina, in the city park, 0.1 km southwest of Lake Ilgis, east of the Ignalina–Dūkštas road. There are 88 burial mounds in the burial mound. The burial mounds are 6–12 m in diameter, from almost flattened to 0.6–1 m high, some with bowls at the base. Some of the burial mounds are located next to each other, others are up to 20–30 m apart. The burial mounds are typical of the second half of the 1st millennium.
