Lourdes, or the Grotto of Lourdes, is a sacred structure, usually built on the site of the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the area of Lourdes, France.
In Švedriškė between Ažvintis and Ažvintaitis lakes, thanks to the pastor Alfredas Karišauskas, a chapel pillar with a sculpture of John the Baptist and Jesus (John baptizes Jesus) was restored. Mary is placed in a stone niche in the fence.
The chapel pillar is made of natural branched oak, surrounded by a fence. No vines, axes, or saws were used. According to priest A. Karišauskas: This is the most beautiful place in the world. On August 18, 1991, the renovated Lourdes was consecrated.
