The initiative of the Foundation „Help for Poles in the East“ immortalized the memory of Polish soldiers who died in battles with the Bolsheviks in 1920 in the city of Dūkštas. 95 tombstones were erected, and the cemetery was fenced off. The project was funded by the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Poland. Caring for graves and respect for historical memory unites the Polish and Lithuanian peoples.
