According to legend, in ancient times, the Rudakampis Peninsula was home to the castle of Duke Budrys, the father of Lina, who fell in love with the Teutonic Knight Ignas. The bottom of Lake Ilgis is famous for its springs, one of which is called Lina's Tears. It can be found on the shore of Lake Ilgis.
