The cross for exiles stands on the railway station square, south of the railway station.
Built on August 20, 1989, by the Ignalina District Council of the Lithuanian Persitvarkymo SÄ…jÅ«dis. The authors are folk craftsman Juozas Jakštas and architect Valdas Ozarinskas. It is a 19 m high oak cross with a sculptural composition and a carved inscription „Through the suffering of Siberia to the resurrection“. At the foot of the monument is a cross formed from rails. The monument is dedicated to the memory of the mass deportations of the Lithuanian people in 1941–1952.
