A 3–4 hour 10 km hiking route starting in Palūšė.
While traveling along this route along picturesque forest and meadow paths, you will visit the wooden sculpture trail located on the Lūšiai coast, which tells local legends, admire the beautiful nature of the Aukštaitija National Park, the cozy villages of Meironys and Gaveikėnai, and learn about the history of fishing at the Fisheries and Aquaculture Museum.
From the Aukštaitija National Park Visitor Center, go right, east, towards Ignalina. At the end of the village, on the left side of the road, there is a beach and a parking lot. Go through the parking lot towards the forest. After crossing the bridge, turn left and travel along the path leading to Meironys along the lake. The sculpture trail begins 800 meters later. It ends before Meironis. When you reach the paved road, turn right. Go along the paved road for 1 km. When you reach the isthmus between Lakes Dringykščiai and Taramas, a gravel road branches off to the left to Gaveikėnai. Travel along it for about 1.2 km. When you enter the forest, you will see old farms on the right side of the road. After 100 m from them, you will come to a crossroads. Keep to the left and go through the village on the paved road. This road leads towards Gaveikėnai Mill. After crossing the mill dam, travel along the paved road until you reach the main road. Turn right, after 100 m turn onto a small road on the left. It soon plunges into the forest and turns into a path. Walk along this path for about 1.5 km until you reach the settlement of Strigailiškis. When you reach the gravel road, turn right and walk south along Kalvos Street for about 500 m until you reach the main Strigailiškis Street. After 205 m it makes a sharp turn to the left, but the route leads straight, along Centro Street. At this intersection, on the right is the Museum of Fisheries and Aquaculture. After walking along Centro Street for another 250 m, you will come to the main road. Turn left. After 100 m, you will reach a crossroads, turn right. Next to the road, on the left, there is a pedestrian and bicycle path, it leads all the way to Palūšė.
